IMPORTANT NOTE: These instructions are exclusively for Orion Planning-only users*.

*How do I know if I am an Orion Planning-only user?

• If you log into Orion Planning using a URL that contains "advizr.com", you are likely an Orion Planning-only user.
• If you follow the steps below and DO SEE Redtail as an available integration, you are likely an Orion Planning-only user. (Orion Connect and Orion Portfolio Solutions users will not see Redtail as an available integration when following these steps.)

• If you are an Orion Connect user, you have a data feed established through Orion Connect for Schwab data.

How to Link a Schwab Institutional Account in Orion Planning

To link your Schwab Institutional account with Orion Planning (such that all of your client accounts in custody at Schwab are automatically linked to the Orion Planning platform), take the following steps:

• Call Schwab Technical Client Service at 1(800) 647-5465, and ask them for a Third Party Letter to share their data with Orion Planning (you must mention Orion Planning specifically).

• They will send a form to you (the advisor) and a form to Orion Planning, which you must fill out with your master account codes and send to Orion at financialplanning@orion.com. At the bottom of the letter, you must also add to the request: "Include SSNs with all ACC files"

• Orion Planning's tech team will use these numbers on our corollary form, faxing in both to Schwab and awaiting their institutional confirmation

• Orion Planning's tech team will then liaise with Schwab's tech team and will take over the process to establish, test, and confirm the data links, notifying you several days later when complete

If you have any questions during this process, email financialplanning@orion.com with the subject line 'Schwab/Orion Planning custodial integration question'.
